About CreativeIndex
CreativeIndex is my own 3D printing business, born out of my passion for tabletop wargames such as Warhammer 40k. It makes accessories that sit beside the models during a game: rotating wound counter dials, status and reminder tokens, and slotted flying bases. Every product is designed by me, printed to order in 13 colours, and dispatched from Suffolk.
The business started on Etsy and eBay, and creativeindexgaming.co.uk is its own storefront. The site is a WooCommerce shop with a custom WordPress block theme. Products are organised into trackers, accessories and essentials, and buyer guides such as “Which counter do I need?” and a base size guide help customers choose the right item before they buy.
Checkout runs through Stripe, a site-wide promotion bar advertises free UK delivery, and cookie consent is handled with Complianz alongside Google consent mode, so analytics only run once a visitor opts in.
Behind the shop sits a small PHP tool I built to produce the marketing imagery. It renders product shots, shop banners and printable thank-you cards as HTML pages, which are then screenshotted in Chrome. This keeps product imagery consistent across the website, Etsy and eBay.
My Role
I run CreativeIndex end to end, from product design to the storefront. My key responsibilities include:
- Designing every product in Autodesk Fusion 360 and printing them on Bambu Lab printers
- Building a custom WordPress block theme for the storefront
- Setting up and configuring WooCommerce, including product variations for pack sizes and colours
- Integrating Stripe payments for checkout
- Writing lightweight vanilla JavaScript for the card galleries, category tiles, menu drawer and scroll reveals
- Implementing GDPR-compliant cookie consent with Complianz and Google Site Kit
- Writing buyer guides, shipping and returns policies, and product copy
- Building a PHP image generator for product photography, banners and order inserts
- Managing listings, orders and fulfilment across the website, Etsy and eBay
